I had originally prepared this post for the previous Saturday Art, but our lovely host had some Tech issues (can I relate!!) and then once resolved I missed the linky.

At that time, I had last left you  in 1920s England inside a stuffy office with a notorious gangster.
Not very kind of me, apologies.   :)
Unless you like that sort of thing, in which case, you're welcome.

I had also walked barefoot to my basement and discovered sand on my front entrance tile.  (now I have snow on the tile.)    Both of which gives me the weary mama sigh as I head towards the cleaning supplies cupboard.
In that sand in my toes moment though, it just made me rather wistful.

Last weekend it was raining.  Rain.
After all the snow we got the previous week.
Our poor snowman died a slow melting death.

But it's still cold.   Or rather, chilly not quite cold enough for the winter jacket again.
This week we are back to snow.

Mother Nature, if you could make up your mind, that would be swell.
Until then, and since I am standing in sand,  I thought I'd return to my road trip beach shots.

A fairly subtle one.   But I do like the glow.
I do rather like this rather post card one.

That particular filter is called "tattoo."
So of course, I want a beach wave tattoo now.

Okay, so that's not MY art.   I just need one now, okay?
Also if anyone knows what that text says in the last one, that would be great!

I think I prefer Fluctuat nec mergitur - which is Latin meaning "she is tossed, but not sunk"

Are ya feelin me on this?
Am I taking "Artful living" too far?

Well, the thing is, that phrase actually means a lot to me these days.
It should mean a lot within this world today; where I suspect more than a few of us have felt rather tossed about.
But me -- I refuse to sink.

There's so many levels y'all.
Calming the storm.    Faith to get out of the boat.    Finding your anchor.
Pick a metaphor:  Just.Never.Give.Up

I'm never on time for anything these days.
In my defense, yesterday was the day we hiked out to the woods to get our Christmas tree, and then it was dashing through the snow and pine needles homeward to get ready for Left Brain's office Holiday Party.
I'm feeling a bit ugh this morning, so I am combining posts: something I rarely do because everyone deserves to have the spotlight once in awhile.
But, time y'all.

The Friendly Fill-Ins are four fun and easy statements to complete. Ellen of 15andmeowingprovides the first two statements and the final two are offered by myself. We try to make sure they will be fun to both answer and share.   On Friday, the linky will be posted at or about 12:00 AM.  Please come back, link up, and share your thoughts!

Here are this week's statements with the blanks:
Week 31: December 9, 2016

1. I love the following Christmas film(s):   A Charlie Brown Christmas will always be a favourite.    The kids love Elf.    Left Brain and I will definitely watch  Die Hard and Christmas Vacation.  There is nothing I don't love about Love Actually.   But the top of the list is definitely It's A Wonderful Life.   That message is timeless.

2. I don't care for the following Christmas film(s):  I made the mistake of watching Bad Santa one year.    Felt like I needed to bleach my brain after.  I see they have made a sequel.  Um. No. Never.

3. At the holidays, I cannot resist shortbread cookies and singing loud for all to hear!!

4. A favourite holiday memory of mine is being at my grandparents farm and grandpa hitching up the horses to the sleigh and actually going on a Christmas morning sleigh ride through the winter wonderland... including bells on the sleigh.

It simply doesn't get better than that.
Christmas cheer and may your toes stay comfy and dry!
